The “H.-Hartziekenhuis Lier” is general hospital that offers a wide spectrum of medical, medical-technical and policlinic services. In 2011 almost 59 000 patients were treated. Thanks to pragmatic approached taking into account the sensitivities of the different stakeholders this implementation and roll-out of hospital wide electronic medical record has become a real success story.
Some of my representative projects
The public university hospital of Liege has a capacity of 925 beds spread over 3 locations. With almost 5000 co-workers it is one of the most import employers in the region. After a bad start I became responsible for change management, implementation and roll-out of the laboratory information system in the role of Crisis Project Manager. With a problem solving customer oriented leadership I turned the project around and made it a success.
"Don’t look at how the project can contribute to your personal success, but look at what you can contribute to make the project more successful. If you contribute to a project and it becomes a success, your personal success will follow anyway. People will recognize your skills instead of trusting your words about how great you are."
That is my personal view and project management style. Please look at some of the projects I executed in that way.
Partezis is a software integrator for care solutions in Belgium. For the replacement of their home-made Laboratory Information System they had chosen to implement and roll-out a third-party system named Glims. As a program manager I was responsible for setting up a master-configuration which is used in 22 hospitals.
The Iris organization is a network of 11 public hospitals in Brussels. I was the project manager for the implementation and roll-out of a new LIS system. The biggest challenges within this project were the multi-linguistic requirements together with the heterogenic lab organizations. If I have learned one thing form this project than it is that the success of project is the sum of individual project success factors like user involvement, executive management support, proper planning, realistic expectations and above all hard-working.
MEDPACE is a Clinical Research Organization (CRO) providing clinical development services for the biopharmaceutical and medical device industries. The Medpace Bioanalytical Laboratories provide bioanalytical services in all stages of drug development – from discovery to post-marketing. They have full service central laboratories with locations in Cincinnati, Ohio; Leuven, Belgium; Beijing, China; and Mumbai, India. As a customer service manager I was not only responsible for the technical presales but also for the implementation and roll-out in complete a different market segment.
Dianalabs is a swiss bioanalytical laboratory they are international known for the expertise in the domain of serology, especially for pregnancy. As a customer service manager I was not only responsible for the technical presales demonstration and negotiations but also for the roll-out and implementation of the Laboratory Information System with a very strict deadline. As this was a geographic market expansion I had to manage the country specific developments to be compliant with the rules and legislations of Switzerland.
